Why Do We Do What We Do?
Because It Matters… A LOT!
The Producers
NEXT GENERATION TAKES THE HELM
André Tixier decided to make champagne from the grapes on his property and market them under his own name in 1926 when his son, Robert, was born.
Today, Patrice, Robert’s son has followed the family tradition and passed on his father’s and grandfather’s know-how to his son, Julien.
The unique taste of our champagne has been perpetuated from generation to generation and has ensured the sustainability of our brand over time.

LOCATION, LOCATION, PREMIER CRU CLASSIFICATION
From the Montagne de Reims, Julien Tixier crafts a magical wonder at his precious jewel of a micro-house, named after his great-grandfather, Andre Tixier & Fils. Pampered and produced with hard-won certifications in environmentally sustainable farming and climate stewardship, the entire range is from 100% 1st growth fruit making a discovery such as this the reason why we chase the Champagne dragon! The soil and near-perfect slope of Tixier’s holding make the connection between heaven and earth clean, but it’s the wine itself that has the toes curled and thighs slapped.
Don’t Cheat Yourself!
Premier Cru!
Of the 18,000+ growers in Champagne, only 4000+ own their vineyards 100% and make the wine, what we commonly call “Grower” Champagne, generally in petit/small quantities. And only 5% of these are even imported into the U.S.!
Organic Methods, Environmentally
Sustainable Viticulture
The farming methods used by Andre TIXIER & Fils are certified sustainable and protective of the environment, extending beyond (but not inclusive of) organic to include carbon footprint, water management, and biodiversity in the vineyard – a practice that avoids monoculture growth and susceptibility to disease.
“Environmentally friendly and very committed to sustainable development, we have chosen to use sustainable farming methods against diseases and therefore only treat our vines when really necessary.”
On the property 0% of man-made, chemical herbicides or insecticides are used. Vineyard treatments, using natural insect repellants such as garlic oil, are measured by each domaine’s Treatment Frequency Index, an average number of times an agricultural plot can be treated with the recommended dose. Andre TIXIER & Fils value of 8 compares favorably to the Champagne region average of 16.
Premier Cru Zip Code:
Mountains of Reims
“The 5 hectares of our vineyard stretch across the prestigious territory of the Reims Mountain and we use the three varieties of grape in the composition of our champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. All Premier Cru classification.”
Sustainable Viticulture Certification of Champagne is an official recognition of Champagne winemakers’ environmental performance.
Andre TIXIER & Fils is among the 15% of the Champagne AOC that has Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certification.

Meet The Owner –
DAVID AFERIAT
David Aferiat is an American of French heritage, founder and CEO of Avid Vines, a luxury wine importer based in Atlanta. His family made a fateful decision when it decided to immigrate: half of the family moved to America, and the other half stayed in Nice.
Since then, his life has been lived between two rich cultures. He’s found a way to build on these past experiences and merge them into what he does now-bringing champagne with the world – with no regrets.
David works with wine producer Andre Tixier who created the Andre TIXIER & Fils champagne, a recipient of Sustainable Viticulture Certification in Champagne and the highest level of a 3-tier certification for agricultural products in France.
