About the Owner
Meet David Aferiat, owner of Avid Vines
and importer of the certified organic Champagnes we bring to America.
Biography
David Aferiat is a dual American/French citizen and owner of Avid Vines, an organic wine importer based in Atlanta. A generation earlier, his family made a fateful decision when it decided to immigrate due to the revolution between France and its then colony in Algeria: half of the family moved to America, and the other half escaped to Nice, FR.
It took 26 years before David and his father were reunited with the French family. Since then, life is lived between the two cultures. David builds on the art, cuisine, and travel experiences that bring France and America together, sharing the organic, artisanal champagne—that leaves everyone who tastes it with no regrets.
David works with wine producer Julien Tixier, the 4th generation of the Andre TIXIER & Fils champagne, a recipient of Sustainable Viticulture Certification in Champagne and the highest level of a 3-tier certification for agricultural products in France.
